Dairy Farm Assistant - Pouarua F

The Opportunity

We are searching for a hardworking individual to join our motivated team as a Farm Assistant. Pouarua F Dairy Unit is situated near Ngatea, about a one hour drive from Auckland. Pouarua F is a 230 ha block, based on peat soils, which will milk 600 cows this season through a 42 aside herringbone shed. Pouarua is a progressive dairy complex currently consisting of 8 farms, where Landcorp manages the day-to-day operations of these farms in a partnership with five Hauraki iwi, the owners of the complex.

To be successful in this role, you will need to have a positive attitude and work well in a team environment. Daily responsibilities in the role will include milking, fencing, feeding out and general stock work.

The position comes includes a 3-bedroom house with an external garage. The location offers a friendly local community and good schooling options.

You will bring:

  • Minimum 1 year dairy farming experience
  • Willingness to learn and a positive attitude
  • The ability to work unsupervised in a team environment
  • First class attitude to Health and Safety and Animal Welfare
  • Good communication skills
  • Restricted or full driver’s licence
