Dairy Farm Assistant - Sheep Milking

The Opportunity

This opportunity is a chance for you to join our high performing Sheep Dairy team in Taupo, New Zealand. We require someone with excellent animal husbandry skills and a keen eye for detail to help milk our 2000 dairy ewes inside a brand new high tech milking parlour. As well as running milking activities, you will have the chance to be involved in the recording, feeding and lambing areas of the business.

Our 2000 ewes and their valuable milk enable us to take high-end sheep milk nutritional products to the world, so demonstrated dairy parlour experience and quality management is essential to your success in this role.

Accommodation onsite is available in a newly built three bedroom home.

You will bring:

  • Experience in milking and running dairy sheds
  • A first class attitude to Health and Safety, Animal Welfare and protecting the Environment
  • Knowledge of animal health and animal recording practices
  • A passion for the use of technology
  • A desire to learn and grow in this new industry
  • A proven track record of working well in a team environment

We offer a chance to join New Zealand’s newest and growing dairy industry. In this role, you will be exposed to all aspects of a modern sheep milking business. You will also receive top quality training, have the chance to see where milk goes beyond the farm and have the opportunity to engage with a wide range of farm service providers.
