Are you honest, reliable and ready to step up? We have a Dairy Production Manager (2IC) role available on Quarry Dairy Unit. This farm is located 5 minutes from Taupo and is a 166 effective ha property, milking 400 cows through a 40 bail herringbone shed with automatic cup removers.
As 2IC, you will take on a degree of responsibility for feed allocation, budgeting, animal health, breeding and animal records management. You will be required to step up and proactively manage the daily operations when the Farm Manager is on rostered time off, so the ability to think on your feet is essential.
The convenient location gives you access to a wide range of outdoor recreational activities within a friendly and diverse community. A comfortable 3 bedroom house is available.
You will have:
- Minimum of 2 years’ dairy farming experience
- First class attitude to Health and Safety, and Animal Welfare
- Comprehensive knowledge across all aspects of dairy farming
- Effective communication skills and the ability to adapt to change
- Impeccable attention to detail and be a forward thinker
- The ability to work unsupervised in a team environment
- Current full driver’s licence
