The Opportunity

Looking for an opportunity to progress your career? We are looking for a positive, keen and hardworking individual to join our team as a Senior Shepherd.

Puketotara, located 15 minutes from Kerikeri, is a 1,000 effective ha property wintering 9,500 su.  The farm’s focus is on finishing lambs and local trade heifers and growing steers and bulls.  

This position is perfect for a shepherd who is looking for their next challenge. The role sits under the guidance of a supportive Farm Manager who endorses career development and offers a variety of responsibilities; you will also have the opportunity to grow your knowledge in farm management systems. The key to being successful in this role is having a strong willingness to learn and a can-do attitude.

The position includes a comfortable three-bedroom home with a primary and secondary school bus at the gate.  It provides easy access to the amenities, services and recreational activities Kerikeri has to offer.

You will bring:

  • Shepherding experience
  • Effective communication skills and common sense
  • Ability to work as part of a team and unsupervised
  • Commitment to high standards of quality and safety
  • Current NZ driver’s license
