A shepherding opportunity has become available on Cape Foulwind Farm. Located 10 mins south of Westport, Cape Foulwind is a 2000 ha property operating as a deer and cattle breeding/finishing unit, with a lamb finishing component in the summer. Winter stock numbers include breeding herds of 2500 hinds, 250 beef cows, associated replacements and trading numbers of 1200 weaner deer, 250 cattle and 2500+ summer lambs.
This role will suit someone who is passionate about farming, willing to learn and open to giving deer farming a go! Working in a team environment, your main responsibilities will include general shepherding duties and yard work.
A three-bedroom house is on offer with a recently renovated kitchen and lounge. Fishing, hunting, mountain biking is on your doorstep close to the sea and rivers. Countless activities available nearby and there is also a recreational centre located in town. The local primary and secondary school bus stops at the gate.
